APCOM calls for nominations to celebrate active members in the LGBTQI community and HIV field
APCOM, together with three regional community partners, APN+, APTN, and ILGA Asia, is proud to announce that the nominations for the 2022 HERO Awards are now open! Please nominate individuals to honor those active in the LGBTQI and HIV field throughout the Asia Pacific region. Nominations for these awards close on 31 July.
Standing for HIV, Equality, and Rights, the HERO Awards is an annual gala event set in Bangkok. The award evening shines a light on the region’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex (LGBTQI) communities and those who have made significant contributions to the HIV response in Asia and the Pacific region.
Community members and supporters throughout the APAC region are invited to nominate individuals and organizations across ten categories: Business Ally, Community Ally, Community Hero, Community Organization, COVID-19 Hero, Health & Wellbeing, HIV Hero, Social Justice, Transgender Hero, and Young Achiever.
Past recipients from Thailand for the 2020 APCOM HERO Awards include Kittinan Daramadhaj, who received the Social Justice Award for his efforts in supporting LGBTQI communities, and Professor Emeritus Vitit Muntarbhorn, who received the Shivananda Khan Award for his work in human rights.
The HERO Awards promises an exciting evening of inspiration and celebration as community members and supporters pay tribute to the extraordinary contributions of individuals and organizations who have improved the lives of LGBTQI people and people affected by HIV throughout the Asia Pacific region.
The HERO Awards is produced by APCOM and is generously supported by a range of community, corporate and diplomatic partners.
